The “Bettona Extreme” took place on Sunday July 25 and the competition awarded the regional Cross Country titles.
The competition, organized by the Bettona MTB Association chaired by Andrea Meschini, in collaboration with Bettona Outdoor, Umbria Crossing and Pro Loco de Bettona, took place on the splendid 5km course with 209 meters of altitude difference between the woods and the trails of the Sambro Valley.
The following participants were awarded the title of regional champions:
- Elite Master category : Mattia Zoccolanti;
- M1 Category : Alessandro Grassini;
- M2 Category : Gianmario Nobili;
- M3 Category : Matteo Donati;
- M4 Category : Emanuele Grelli;
- M5 Category M5 : Fabio Frosini;
- M6 Category : Mirco Cetra;
- M7 Category : Stefano Romani;
- Woman 1 category : Ursula Arcangeli;
- Woman 2 category : Cristina Gaudenzi;
- Woman Junior : Carmen Sabatini.
- Junior Master : Gabriele Savi.
The Mayor of Bettona and our founder, Lamberto Marcantonini, always supportive of these events was on hand. The Vice-President of the Umbrian Cycling Federation Roberto Cocchieri, gave the start. Approximately 100 participating athletes, divided into two staggered departures (at 9:00 and 11:00);provided that ample space was given to the very young, with competitions dedicated in all categories from 6 to 14 years.
Bettona is thus confirmed as the capital of outdoor sports open to all. A true playground able to attract fans from all over Italy. 100 kilometres of trails, maintained and marked at the disposal of the host structures of the territory, 365 days a year. Bettona is a model of quality sports tourism and another great opportunity to promote our region, 100% pure air.

The next event will be the Umbria Crossing Outdoor Festival, which will see us once again alongside the Bettona MTB association. It will be held from September 24 to 26, 2021 for two, must-attend events: Bettona Crossing Ultra Trail and Bettona Mtb Extreme.
