Advanced Concrete Batching for High-Volume and Sustainable Production
The FIRTH 882 project is one of the most advanced ready mix concrete plants in New Zealand, combining high capacity, automation, and sustainability in a fully integrated solution.
Developed for Firth Industries (Fletcher Building), the plant supports growing demand for low-carbon concrete and large-scale infrastructure projects in Auckland.

A High Capacity Ready Mix Plant in New Zealand
Located in Auckland, the FIRTH 882 facility is the largest and most advanced ready mix batching plant in New Zealand, designed to centralise operations and significantly improve production efficiency.
This concrete batching plant in Auckland allows Firth to:
- consolidate multiple production sites
- increase output capacity
- optimise logistics and dispatch operations
With two drive-through production lanes, the plant supports simultaneous loading, enabling faster turnaround and higher productivity.
Custom Concrete Batching Plant Designed for Performance
The FIRTH 882 system is a custom-designed concrete batching plant, engineered to meet the specific operational needs of one of New Zealand’s leading concrete suppliers.
By combining MCT Italy’s expertise in concrete batching technology and automation systems with local engineering execution, the plant delivers:
- high precision material dosing
- advanced twin shaft mixing technology
- fully automated batching control system
This ensures consistent concrete quality across a wide range of mix designs, from infrastructure to residential applications.
Automated Batching System for Efficiency and Control
At the core of the project is a state-of-the-art automated concrete batching system, providing:
- real-time production monitoring
- accurate and repeatable dosing
- full batch traceability
This level of automation reduces manual intervention, increases plant reliability, and guarantees consistent output—key factors for modern high performance concrete production.
High Output – Over 240 m³/h
Engineered for high performance, the plant delivers over 240 m³/h.
- 4 × 30 m³ drive-over aggregate bins
- 18 aggregate bins (2,000+ tons aggregates storage)
- 18 aggregate weighing units (3.5 m³ each)
- 2 wet alleys with twin shaft mixers (3.35 m³ output)
- 6 cement silos (100 tons each)
- Fibre dosing systems (steel, poly, glass)
- Automatic colour and granulate dosing
- Water recycling system (full reuse)
- MCT CompuNet control system
Sustainable Concrete Production and CO₂ Reduction
Sustainability plays a central role in this eco-friendly concrete batching plant.
The system has been designed to support:
- increased use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs)
- recycled aggregates integration
- full wastewater recovery and reuse
The plant enables the production of low-carbon concrete, helping contractors and developers meet environmental targets while maintaining performance.
International Collaboration for Advanced Batching Solutions
The success of this project highlights the value of combining global technology with local expertise.
- MCT Italy: batching technology, automation, and plant design
- Allwest Engineering: local engineering, installation, and project execution
- Firth Industries: operational vision and sustainability leadership
This collaboration resulted in a tailor-made concrete batching plant that balances innovation, reliability, and operational efficiency.
